The name "Hawthorns" stems from Bens' Grandmothers' family home, where he admired his Grandmas' green fingered nature and passion for the outdoors from a young age.

"No problems, only solutions" is our motto.

Anything is possible.  We love to work together with our clients, making the most of different ideas to allow us to create bespoke spaces for you and your friends and family to enjoy, with a personalised touch.

Owner & Chief Bottle Washer

Ben

Ben is the owner of Hawthorns Gardening and Landscaping. As long as he's outside, he's happy. He loves to spend his free time in the countryside, and playing rugby at the weekends.

"On rainy days I can often be found in my workshop tinkering with various projects, or just drinking tea with the guys next door instead.

What I like most about our work, is the variety of what we do and all the different people we get to meet. Every day has a different set of challenges to tackle. I relish the opportunities that a blank slate, in the form of a new garden or outdoor space, brings."

Chief Supervisor & Social Media Whizz

Roger

Roger has been a member of the Hawthorns team from 8 weeks old. Chief supervisor and Tennis ball hunter, Roger is very friendly and easily bribed with a cocktail sausage or Custard cream.

"Hi. My name's Roger. The more perceptive of you will have concluded that I'm a dog. My primary tasks include sunning myself in a quiet garden, whilst keeping a watchful eye on Ben and Elliot. They work very hard so I feel it's only fair that I counter this with a more relaxed approach to the business.

I may have been called 'adorable' more than once".

Right Hand Man

Elliot

Ben and Elliot have been friends since middle school, played rugby together in sixth form, and have been working together since 2020.

"Hi, I'm Elliot. I have always had a passion for the outdoors and being creative. I enjoyed practical subjects such as DT at school, and this led me down a path to an engineering degree at Oxford Brookes University. However after Uni, I moved back home and came to give Ben a hand on a few jobs,  and the rest is history.

I have a passion for sport. I grew up racing quad bikes, mountain bikes, playing rugby and competing in Tae Kwon Do.

I now fill my spare time continuing to race and also serve in the army reserves."
